Behind the Lens

Richard's journey into the visual arts began early. As a young boy he was given painting lessons which ignited his inner creativity. His interest in photography grew when he served as a photographer in the US Navy.

After attending the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan he went on to work in commercial photography opening his studio in New York’s photo district.  After 22 years he left the freelance world and became Director of Photography for a corporation in Westchester county, NY.

Over the years Richard's work has appeared in various photography shows, most recently, in a group Exhibit held at Silvermine Galleries in New Canaan, CT

In his spare time, Richard enjoys traveling and capturing images. His current passion is his photo series, Places in Song, which chronicles a portion of rock and roll history.

He currently resides in Williamsburg, VA
